I now own a Honda CR-V 2008. Did you install the most powerful stereo system. I’m spending ~ $ 800-1000. I want to buy and install myself. Any advice on how to do it? The problem is that I know nothing about car stereo, but still want to do everything by myself Couse 1. I always do everything myself and 2. I do not trust people in the car shops, always trying to sell more of what you need when you do not know anything about it. So any advice? Or where I can get information on choosing and installing everything myself? Thanks!
By the way, I’ll leave my cd player ALCS actions. It has everything you need: read mp3 + has good sound quality. What I want is to install an amplifier and a woofer for bass strong but I’m only interested in a good quality of sonido. No am interested in sound quality strong, but wrong. Shoud first sounds good, and the low strength is in 2nd place.
This is a tough one. 1- it depends on what you want to accomplish. If you are installing a new unit, amps and speakers I would advice you to have it done. There are such things such as harnesses that you need to buy inorder to hookup the unit. 2- if you do it wrong, it will sound bad, real bad.
If sound is all you are interested in, an amp and new speakers will do it. If you are installing a new unit that has for example gps, this gets a bit more complicated. Whatever you do, don’t buy cheap stuff, safe up and buy good quality components.
Your in luck buddy. I happen to be the CEO of a Car Audio Store. I specialize in putting together great car audio systems for my customers using only what they want to spend and no more. I would love to help you piece the perfect system for your car together but I have to tell you one thing. Replace the deck. Not that you cant leave your factory deck in but the line outs adapter that you’ll have to put in so that you can connect your amp is bulky as hell and you’ll have to splice the factory wires. Instead buy a new deck and take out the stock. You’ll get the adapter for your factory wires so when your done with your sounds you can put the factory back in no problem. The benefit of a new deck and adapter is you can cut up all those wires and if you fuck up (assuming you dont kill your deck during install) you can try try again. Its color coded though so its really easy to do. Let me piece something together for ya. BRB. Just kidding Im going to recommend a great website. They have awesome selection, great prices and usually supply any wires and or adapters that you will need for your installation at no extra charge. http://www.sonicelectronix.com This site is a God Sent to anyone that wants great sound in their car. You want to spend 8 to 1000 dollars. I recommend that you check out Kole Audio for your amp. I owned the 3000 watt amp and was so impressed with its performance that I sold it and bought a Kole Audio 5500 watt amp. I also bought the Kole Audio 30 farad capacitor. The deck is important but if your staying with your stock, the line out adapter has to be adjusted so that each sub gets the same amount of audio. Its tricky and the amount each sub gets wont be exact. That another reason I am recommending getting a new deck. You can find a great replacement on sonicelectronix for around 150 and it includes the adapters and install kits to your make and model for free in most cases. JVC is good for sounds but they have alot of other brands. Choose what you like best. Finally the subs, or in your case Sub. You got little trunk space so I would go with a single 12 or 15. High watts with a good amp and your not only going to get great loud bass but make sure that your subwoofer RMS matches the amps RMS at 4 ohm. You want the sub to be a little higher in that dept, but connecting everything at 4 ohm is the best audio quality your going to get. I know a butt load more but I cant keep typing I have already given you alot to work with. Enjoy the website. You’ll find everything you need there, Amp Deck Subs Etc. If you have any questions, please let me know. I love music and car audio. My car audio shop is wishful thinking but I do plan on starting it up though.
