I have negotiated with distributors and have done my research on buying new car. Most sites say that any price under the MSRP is good, and the bill is great, but how low can I really go into the dealers invoice thesis? I understand that there are many factors that play into this, (long, hot selling … Etc.) What do you think?
Price it on Edmunds.com. They provide a very good buyer’s guide for new cars and many used cars.
I consider anything out the door (tt&l added), under incoice great.
Under INVOICE not STICKER. Sticker is MSRP.
My trucks sticker was 42k, invoice was 33k and some change. Walked out the door with it for 32K. That was with TT&L.
Check the website from Edmunds.com. It will tell you what others are paying for the car in your area and let you know what you should pay for it with the options, etc.
Keep negotiating !!!!! Dont settle for that.
My truck stickered for just over 30000,
I bought it INCLUDING tax and all other fees for just over 26000.
Salesman are trained to sell. Be assertive, 1000 is nothing.
Probably a fair price. You’re right a lot of it depends on how many they have on the lot and how well they are selling.
I’ve been offered prices quite a bit further under invoice (usually on vehicles no one wants)
As usual there’s a lot more wiggle room on a used car. I’ve gotten some ridiculously good deals over the years for friends, just dont approach it like you want to make friends with the salesman.
People that are willing to waste hours of a guys time over a few hundred bucks and have an indifferent attitude and a little bit of education on what the dealers are willing to get rid of their cars for always get the best deals.
