I have to order this Jeep from the factory as I get quiero.Es the negotiating process differently? They told me I have to make the request and gave me the same price as if it were built your site with current incentives. I told him to get if the price is reduced by 10%. They said they can not bargain until the Jeep is done and that has a VIN number. This makes no sense to me. Will I have to pay more and have less purchasing and bargaining power because I am using in the factory so if I bought one out of luck? and why is that? And is there anything I can do to get the best price for them? Appreciate your comments, thank you very much!
you can negotiate the same way as if the Jeep was right there in front of you.
My best advice to you, now that you know exactly what you want, is to shop at least 3 different Jeep dealerships before you place an order. Get the best price you can, then subtract the current incentives and place your order.
I can’t believe they didn’t take your offer of m.s.r.p. minus 10%, especially in today’s economy. It’s not like they had to take you on a demo ride and go thru the whole sales routine. We generally would sell ordered vehicles cheaper than lot models (depending on the model)…You know it’s sold when you order, plus no floor plan, advertising and interest compiling while it sits on the lot (point these things out to your salesman)
Good luck
Dont sign any paper work until it comes in. They will order it for you, but be prepared to walk off the lot if they dont give you a good price. Also, since it’s special order, go to other dealers and get quotes
You can always negotiate, but you have more negotiating power when the car is on the lot. Dealers have inventory that they have to move. So they are willing to come down to move them. Find the one that is closest to what you want. Find the invoice price (edmunds.com) and pay that or maybe $100 over, BEFORE any incentives. Remember incentives come from the factory so you will get those regardless what you pay the dealer.
You can only negotiate so much until the car is delivered to the dealership. You will not get the current rebates, you will only get the ones available at the time of delivery.
When you order a car, there are sometimes factors which effect the vehicle invoice, mainly price increases. These are not controlled by the dealership, so negotiating a factory order is not the same as if it was on the lot, so don’t “walk out” if they do not give you an exact price on a vehicle that does not yet exist.
You can deal with percentages or a specific dollar amount over invoice, however make sure the buyers order reflects that the percentage is compatible with any rebates available at time of delivery. Otherwise, they can hold you to the % you negotiated and if the car has $3,000 in rebates when it arrives, they might say the rebate was included in the negotiated price. Good luck and I hope this helps.
you are not going to get 10% off a vehicle. maybe you dont realize but there is a 7-8% mark up on most new vehicles! and if you are talking about a new jeep wrangler unlimited you are definetly barking up the wrong tree! be a true big shooter and step up!
